Characteristics

The Eurasian curlew’s body size is large among curlew species. It has a long and down-curved bill, which is three times the length of its head. These birds like to forage along the water line, poking their bill into the sand to find food.
Habits: The Eurasian curlew feeds on crabs, crustaceans, and invertebrates. The birds exhibit washing behaviors when they catch crabs.
Winter/Uncommon; Body length: 60 cm
Birdwatching period: October-April
